From that point on, we never looked back. We never looked to the world system for help, we never got treatment for tetanus or even visited another doctor. We never even went to the internet to research tetanus.
Instead, we started to build a new identity, a spiritual identity in Christ based on what he accomplished almost 2,000 years ago. We sat down and studied the Bible like we never had before. We kept looking for passages that would strengthen our spiritual identity in Christ, pure Gospel passages, mostly Paul’s revelations and Jesus’ last teachings on earth as recorded by John. And mostly from the Amplified Bible.
The first few weeks the symptoms were so intense that we had to build our new identity by reading and meditating for 12 hours a day just to get the focus off the symptoms. The first and probably most important revelation we had, came while reading John 14.
In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you. And when I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.
It became clear to us that the dwelling place Jesus was talking about was a spiritual place and that when he said “when I come back again, I will take you to myself” he was talking in spiritual terms about a spiritual event that was about to take place. Hence, in our present age, it was already fulfilled and He already took us to himself, since he had already come back and appeared to his disciples after his death and resurrection.
All of a sudden scales fell from our eyes and it became clear to us what this dwelling place was. It was a place of perfect restoration, peace, unity and oneness with the Father through Christ. A place of wholeness and perfection where there is no longer any want, need, lack but perfect contentment in His love. A spiritual place that was real and available to us NOW. A place that we could access at any time, if we decided to do so. This obviously gave us a whole new revelation of the Father’s love which grew more and more the further we went.
“You are cleansed and pruned already”,
“Dwell in me and I will dwell in you, live in me and I will live in you”,
“He who believes in me possesses eternal life now”,
“Anyone who loves his life loses it, but anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal”,
“They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”,
“Just as you Father sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world”,
“I have given to them the same glory that you have given me”,
“I in them and you in me”
All of a sudden these words of Christ were no longer mysteries but made perfect sense and suddenly came alive in a way like never before. We finally realized that Jesus was talking about a place or state of being that was totally independent of what we experienced in the natural.
